This morning at Palazzo della Provincia, Sala Pagliacci, “Vivi l'Ambiente”, coordination of the Umbrian Environmental and Venatic Associations committed to defending the environment, biodiversity and the usability of the territory, was presented.
An apolitical and non-partisan partnership, "Vivi l'Ambiente" aims to tackle these problems in a technical and decisive manner by launching a challenge against the environmentalist philosophy of "everything forbidden and always".
"As citizens, environmentalists and hunters, we place ourselves as a reference point for the defense of the environment, biodiversity and the usability of the territory - underlined Massimo Paneni, Coordinator of" Live the Environment "- we ask that those acts, those regulations, those controls that improve the quality of the environment and greater attention to hunting problems are carried out, since, being these inextricably linked to the management and control of the territory, they can only lead to an improvement of its healthiness ".
The Presidency of the Province of Perugia has welcomed with confidence the proposal launched by "Vivi l'Ambiente" to combat environmental extremism in full respect of the protection of the environment which must enter, by right, within the provincial council of hunting and of fishing, as one cannot pretend not to understand that only a territory in harmonious fauna and flora balance can be a source of well-being for all citizens and that the presence of game is an important biological indicator, and that, consequently , the hunter is the first to care about the health of the environment in which he lives.
According to the position of the Presidency of the Province, it is necessary to rejuvenate the relationship with the Parks Authority and do more environmental education and hunting education, working collectively with the Associations that form “Vivi l'Ambiente”, in a constructive way. The Spokesperson of the "Le Torri" Hunters Club, Mario Bartoccini, reiterated that the Associations in thematic coordination in "Vivi l'Ambiente" intend to give substance to a unitary cooperation project, in order to re-establish the primacy of rural and hunting culture , in the management of the ecosystem for the purpose of sustenance and, above all, in order to safeguard the roots of biodiversity.
Tito Mariotti, national councilor and Umbrian delegate of the Beccacciai d'Italia Association, pointed out that among the various negative indications on biodiversity, caused above all by chemical herbicides, one comes from the Woodcock that goes at night to eat earthworms in intensively cultivated fields and probing the ground he finds it full of chemical fertilizers with damage to his health and ours.
The President of the National Hunting Committee of Rurality and Traditions, Sergio Gunnella, reiterates how important it is, to work collectively, for the harmonious and balanced restoration of the rural and built territory, by means of a constant conservation of biodiversity, rural culture, local and national traditions and a behavioral and fruitive ethic respectful of eco-compatible development, respectful of the diversity and specificities of each citizen, in urban agglomerations as well as in the countryside, means guaranteeing them a better quality of life.
Claudio Polidori, President of the "Nata Libera" hunting and environmental association continues to underline that hunting does not represent a problem for the environment, but rather, thanks to the control of critical species, it enriches its biodiversity: the real problems for the healthiness of the environment they are represented by untreated wastewater, by the excessive use of chemical products in agriculture, by the lack of study of urban planning, by the bad management of waste disposal.
In concluding the meeting, the Delegated Provincial Councilor for hunting enthusiastically appreciated the spirit that unites the various Umbrian Environmental and Venatic Associations that participated in the initiative, and how the Province of Perugia shares it, making itself available to collaborate in resolving the problem of environmental protection, first of all by trying, in collaboration with Anas and the Region of Umbria, to tackle the problem of chemical herbicides and return to natural cutting of the grass.
The hunter is the most important environmental sentinel, according to the position of the Chief Executive Officer, and we need to exploit the potential we have in the area to keep the environment under control.
The Umbrian Environmental and Venatic Associations that are part of the Coordination of “Vivi l'Ambiente” are: Environment and Nature, Beccacciai d'Italia, Club Cacciatori “Le Torri”, National Hunting Committee and Born Free.
