Hunting calendar 2011-2012: The Umbria Regional Council is committed to a single opening to all permitted species in compliance with national and EU legislation.
Perugia, May 30th - "A summary point to be reported in the deliberation of the Regional Council, which takes into account what emerged in the context of the Wildlife Hunting Council and which provides, for the 2011-2012 Hunting Calendar, a single opening to all species allowed in compliance with the national and community legislation ": this is the commitment made this morning by the regional hunting councilor Fernanda Cecchini during the wildlife-hunting council, convened and chaired by the councilor for a further discussion on the hunting calendar of the next hunting season that the Regional government intends to pre-adopt soon.
During the meeting, which follows an extensive work of comparison activated in recent months by the Department with the whole hunting world, the hunting associations reaffirmed their desire to seek the possibility of starting the collection of the greatest number of species in the earliest possible date.
The comparison therefore focused on the evaluation of the hypothetical dates for a single opening, once the prevailing desire to avoid opening to only one or two species has been verified.
“Is the identification of the opening date possible? explained Cechini? it is between the first or third Sunday of September, also taking into account in the decision the possible alternatives regarding the closing dates for some species.
This is in consideration that respecting the time frame in the failure to implement the pre-opening would result in the loss of a single hunting day.
Furthermore ? concluded the commissioner - for the closure of the hunting of some species, a postponement to the first ten days of February would also be possible, as foreseen by the recent changes introduced by community law ".
