Fauna accidents: Sardinia, a deer attacks hikers in the mountains of Castiadas in Monte Pauli (CA), two young people were injured.
Nine hikers and a guide were attacked by a deer in the Castiadas mountains, in Monte Pauli. The group was surprised by the animal during the snack break. The deer hit one of the walkers, a 29-year-old doctor in the groin, injuring the femoral artery. Another doctor who took part in the excursion saved his life. Another 32-year-old hiker, originally from Tempio, was also injured in the attack. The deer then hurled itself on the backpacks abandoned by people from the fleeing hikers. When the animal left, the injured were rescued by the 118 staff who intervened by helicopter and then transported to the Brotzu hospital emergency room for treatment. The more serious of the two is the doctor injured in the artery femoral but not in danger of life while the other injured young man was discharged a few hours later. The men of the Forestry also intervened on the spot.
