Dear Minister (or dear Minister?) Michela Brambilla, we have read your recent utterances on animalism, hunting and government policies published by Il Giornale on 1 December 2009. Not that they surprised us as you have never made any secret of your thought on these topics, not even when the usual post-election “toto ministers” was at stake: so much so that many, among the Italian hunting population, had made the necessary exceptions so that no Dicastery would be entrusted to you. This was not the case and we regret it very much, but now, as they say, "the omelette is done" for some time.
This obviously does not prevent us from expressing in turn the point of view of those who practice, defend and promote it, in the name and on behalf of 700.000 citizens with a clean and immaculate criminal record, as the possession of the port of hunting rifle, a reason for pride before the law. You see, dear Minister (we finally lean towards the feminine declination), the basic mistake that you and many others commit is to start from the idea of the "party of the double goals" or even the coalition of the double goals, which must necessarily oppose the party or coalition of animal rights or environmentalists or anti-hunts if you prefer. When it comes to hunting, at the dawn of AD 2010, it would be much more correct and intelligent, as well as far-sighted, to approach it from a positive perspective as a tool for the management and sustainable use of renewable natural resources and the extraordinary national resource that is the territory not man-made and non-urbanized together with the wildlife that inhabits it. The rules of hunting in Italy, if you did not know it, are already among the most rigid and restrictive of the EU: it is no coincidence, in fact, that the detractors and opponents of our passion, both political and not, are damning themselves. has been animating for a year now by all means not to revise them in the slightest (the reference is obviously to the stunted and uncertain process of modification of the current law n. 157 of 1992). But that's not all: why read certain statements made by a Minister of the Republic, therefore an authoritative member of the government, ominously clashes with the program proclaimed loudly by the PDL on the occasion of the past electoral campaign. We would expect instead attitudes of balance and reasonableness, necessary in the (alas defunct) noble art of politics in general, but even more imperative and indelible for those who are the majority and therefore hold the rudder. Therefore, forget about the references to the usual clichés and, perhaps, take ten minutes every now and then to get better information: between the web, printed publications, various documentation, anyone today can inquire before speaking, especially if they can have crowds of assistants, employees , bag holders, secretaries as in your case. We agree on only one element: when you say not to expect everyone to think like you. And God forbid! We are exactly among those who disagree and do not bet that it is a minority, probably all these people have only public visibility but this does not cancel their existence and rights, including that of voting. Dear Minister, have a pleasant holiday season as you please. We, in addition to being with our families, will certainly not fail to go hunting in our beautiful countryside, with our beloved dogs, friends of many jokes and our beloved children if, their goodness, they want to follow us.
Best regards
The Executive Committee ANUUMigrators
