The strong extension of the photovoltaic systems, with 70 hectares already authorized in suburbs of Aprilia and requests such as to concern another 220 hectares of countryside, are likely to devour other agricultural land valuable. A business, that of clean energy, which risks involving the consumption of new land and not only farmers, but also hunting enthusiasts, following specific rules, are at the expense of it. Precisely for this reason the hunters gathered in five associations, Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, Arci Caccia, Libera Caccia and Anuu, which represent a pool of about 500 members, have decided to write a letter to the Province of Latina, the Municipality of Aprilia and the ATC of Latina, the territorial area for hunting, to ask to limit the spread of the plants, where go to damage their ability to practice the art of hunting, on the other hand, by rewarding alternative installations that do not involve the consumption of agricultural land.
A line in hindsight not far from that supported by the Municipality of Aprilia, which is working on the regulation whose purpose is to indicate the areas not suitable for the construction of the plants and dictate clear rules for the construction of ground systems. "We have nothing against the construction of plants for the production of clean energy - explain the representatives of the five associations, both as hunters but also and above all as farmers and nature lovers - but we believe that limitations should be provided, favor the installation of photovoltaic panels where there are abandoned buildings to limit the consumption of new agricultural land.
In fact, we have learned that in the municipality of Aprilia and in particular in peripheral areas there are projects already authorized to cover 70 hectares of agricultural land in addition to plans under construction to cover another 220 hectares. We are aware that the Municipality, the Province and the Region must reach the goal with the production of 30% of renewable energy, but we ask that this not be done to the detriment of our campaigns. As for the associations that gather people with a passion for hunting, we would like to underline the presence of strong limitations for the practice of hunting: there are fewer and fewer wooded areas, hunting cannot be practiced near homes, roads and crops.
The boom in requests for photovoltaic systems to be built in the agricultural area risks compressing even more the open country areas, so we ask the institutions in charge to evaluate our requests. Instances that we carry out not only as hunters, but also nature lovers, a love that also leads us to safeguard and care for the few remaining wooded areas during the year ».
