Hunting and Literature to talk about civilization that we must recover or that we do not want to lose.
It depends on your point of view. This was the guiding theme of the conference held on August 4 in the castle of Mombaroccio: a successful test of dialogue between irreducible (or almost) opposing fronts.
With an event entitled "Civilization of hunting, culture of the environment - Hunting practice in literature, food for thought on a controversial issue", the Municipality of Mombaroccio (PU) brought together environmentalists, hunters and citizens on 4 August to reflect and discussing an often tangled theme, which at times arouses strong emotional reactions from opposing sides, of those who love hunting and those who see it as the smoke of the eyes.
But hunting is a social and economic phenomenon that cannot be hastily evaluated, and the correct approach to the subject is, first of all, a cultural fact.
Taking a cue from the reading of passages by Hemingway, Erri De Luca and the recent novel IL SELETTORE by Mauro Ferri (Casentino literary prize in 2010) by the actors of the local association Le 2 readure, with the mediation of Giancarlo Clini, Deputy Mayor of Mombaroccio, the director of the Sibillini Mountains Park Franco Perco, the well-known Urbino ethologist Massimo Pandolfi, the history of literature professor Fabio Trovarelli and Graziano Giangolini, spokesman for the environmental association “Memoria” of Mombaroccio, met.
As part of the meeting, a round table was held on the theme "Life feeds on life: hunting and ethics in contemporary society", led by the regional councilor of the Marche Elisabetta Foschi, which was attended by the mayor of Fano, Stefano Aguzzi , the hunters Paolo Antonioni (Federcaccia Marche), Alberto Roscetti (Federcaccia Pesaro), Giorgio Guarnieri (Arcicaccia Pesaro) and the provincial manager for hunting Massimo Pensalfini; guest of honor was Roberto Ditri, president of the Vicenza Fair, sponsor of the initiative and organizer of HuntingShow.
At the opening of the proceedings, the mayor of Mombaroccio, Massimo Muratori, also a hunter, brought his first experience as a selector, dating back to twelve years earlier, involving the public in the emotion of the novice when he is face to face with his first prey.
Bringing the conclusions at the end of the four hours of work (whose interest was able to keep the audience in the room, braving the heat of the August afternoon), the President of the Provincial Council Luca Bartolucci underlined with satisfaction the success of the initiative, both from the point of view of the innovative formula, both for the civil confrontation between the different sensitivities on the delicate subject, summarizing in summary that only with a cultural approach can a meeting point be found between the passion for hunting, the protection of the environment and the instances of those who live with wildlife, starting with farmers.
