22,6% of losses remain excluded from compensation, a lower percentage than in previous years, specifies Coldiretti Mantova, thanks to the commitment of the regional councilor for Agriculture, Alessandro Beduschi, who found additional resources for 430 thousand euros. There were 192 compensation applications presented at provincial level (in addition to 22 not admitted), while 212 were requests for the purchase of damage prevention equipment. In terms of damaged crops, the greatest damage was recorded by watermelons (27,8%), followed by corn (21,2%) and soybeans (20,2%), while melons were further away (8,1%). ) and sunflower (6,8 percent).

The hare is the most destructive animal of field crops, so much so that it is responsible for 38,2% of the damage recorded by farms in the province of Mantua. This is followed by corvids and similar (21,2%), pigeons and wood pigeons (20,2%) and wild boars (1,06% of damage).
