In recent days, a man was caught red-handed by Forestry Corps of the Rocca Santa Maria Command, in the province of Teramo, while training hunting dogs in Gran Sasso National Park. As reported by News-town.it, it is a poacher who was in the zone 1 of the Park, more precisely in the municipality of Valle Castellana. The boundary of zone 1 includes the most central part. The man was in the locality Cold Valley-Macchia del Sole and was surprised at dawn.
The Forestry was engaged in a anti-poaching control and noticed this person inciting six hunting dogs in an area where there is usually a lot of wildlife, notably hares, wild boars and roe deer. The stakeout allowed the officers to follow the poacher and to stalking him in the direction of the dogs' hunt.
The same dogs continued to bark and follow in the footsteps of the wild. The area in which it was "pinched" is among the most protected in the Gran Sasso Park, consequently in recent times it has been decided to strengthen controls and supervision. The man, whose age was not disclosed, was reported on the loose for the criminal violations committed and will also have to pay one administrative sanction for unlawful conduct.
