Hunting: Bergamo, the amendments proposed by the hunters pass and the Wildlife Hunting Plan is approved with the new modifications; President Pirovano is not satisfied and threatens: "The plan will be canceled".
The hunters shoot the hunting ground of the Province of Bergamo and sing victory. At the fourth session in a week, the Council approved a document that was profoundly modified with respect to what was approved by the Executive. The councilors expressed themselves in favor of two amendments despite the negative opinion of the technicians. The line of president Ettore Pirovano and councilor Alessandro Cottini was therefore disavowed by the vote, which saw the pro-hunting frond led by the Northern League player Matteo Malighetti prevail. Completely split majority, with an adjoining reversal compared to the outcome of the previous sessions in which the technicians have always declared their opposition to the proposed changes. The president is puzzled: “The plan will be canceled, because it is attached to the heart. The court is waiting for nothing else. The hunters are happy, I hope they are happy even when someone tells them they can't go hunting ”. The political evaluation is even more merciless: “It is useless to talk about Lega or non Lega, here there is only asylum mariuccia. And it also applies to the PDL ".
Councilor Alessandro Cottini accepts the response, but is critical: “I do not agree with some of the decisions of the Council, which is still sovereign. I wish everyone that the plan comes into effect soon ”. Against him, however, the friendly fire of the PDL is unleashed, which through the mouth of the councilor Matteo Oriani sends a clear message: “There have been many problems, errors, underestimations. Some have broken their word, writing the amendments and then giving a negative opinion. We will not easily turn the page by pretending that nothing has happened. There was an excess of lightness. We should have acted more carefully, we should have shared a different path. Whoever has the sin of superficiality must assume his responsibilities. You can't sit indefinitely at a table with people who can only say no. We are a responsible political force, but not subordinate to the ally or the council ”.
To amplify the split vote of the majority against the executive's proposal was also the decision of the Democratic Party not to participate in the vote on the amendments. The Democrats were the only ones to comment negatively even on the overall vote. “For us the world of hunting belongs to the environmentalist one as much as the naturalists - explains Matteo Rossi -. We are administrators, it is up to us to solve the problems: the task of the majority was not to do a little bit, but to build a path. It was not done: here lies the political defeat. The approved amendments make this plan precarious. We want to hope that it is not hunters and conservationists who pay. You have given the worst and ours will be a vote against ”.
On the other hand, Vittorio Milesi, group leader of the Bettoni-Udc List, was satisfied: “We note with satisfaction that after a troubled journey the wildlife plan ends. We don't want to make a list of who has won and who has lost. We believe that the provincial council won because, through discussion, the councilors recovered a sense of their role ”.
