The Board Toscana approved a resolution that starts the drafting process of the Regional hunting fauna plan, the first to be carried out by the Region after the transfer of powers of the Provinces, which took place in 2016. The resolution, explains a note, was brought in addition by the councilor for agriculture Marco Remaschi. The plan will have a system that focuses on environmental sustainability, respect for biodiversity, the protection and management of fauna and the specificities of the territory. "The Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan (Pfvr) - underlines Remaschi - the basic document from which all future planning of activities in the field of wildlife management will derive of the Tuscan territory.
We have tried to introduce innovative contents starting from a careful analysis of the data and from a wide consultation with the agricultural professional organizations, hunting and environmental protection associations ". Remaschi recalled how sustainability is one of the main themes of the Plan. “The whole agrosilvopastoral system must be sustainable from an environmental and management point of view. Not only for the species subject to hunting but, in general, for the territory and its ecosystems in order to ensure maximum biodiversity ".
Another aspect in the center of the plan the protection and management of the territory and of fauna because, observes the commissioner, “for the safeguard of numerous habitats it has been evident for some years how active management measures must be introduced, for example on ungulates. The contents of the Plan will also be shared with the territory because sharing is important for every planning act ”(Il Tirreno).
