A man wounded in the face following a hunting accident in Rocca San Giovanni (CH), the dynamics are not yet clear.
November 19, 2011 - In the late morning yesterday in San Giacomo di Rocca San Giovanni, in the province of Chieti, a fifty-year-old hunter was injured during a hunting trip.
The man had gone with a friend to the hunting spot in the locality of San Giacomo but shortly before noon the fifty-year-old returned home with his face wounded on the left side and in an evident state of shock.
Immediately his wife and other relatives did their utmost to take him to the nearest emergency room, that of the Lanciano hospital, thanks also to the help of a local police patrol who escorted them to the hospital.
The man's wounds were caused by shot from a shotgun; the only certain thing is the fact that it is an accident but it is not yet clear whether the shot came from his rifle or from that of his hunting companion.
The injured person was immediately subjected to investigations and treatment in the emergency room and obviously is not in danger of life as a barrage of pellets had struck him with a smear causing him only superficial injuries to the cheek and left ear.
However, the Carabinieri of the Fossacesia Station are investigating the facts.
