Yesterday afternoon the Bolognese Provincial Council approved the new Regulation for the appointment of a voluntary fish hunting sworn guard and for the regulation of the coordination of voluntary surveillance activities.
According to the new document, which has already obtained the compliance opinion from the Emilia-Romagna Region and replaces the previous one, the guards must be equipped with a special identification card and the Register of sworn guards of the province of Bologna managed by the Service is established. fauna protection and development of the same Province.
The volunteers committed themselves free of charge, through their associations affiliated with the Province, to promote the necessary information on current legislation, to contribute to the protection of the natural heritage, to collaborate with the Institutions in wildlife - hunting surveillance activities as well as to actively participate to the best management of the territory.
The volunteer guards active in the provincial territory are about 300 to whom the new simplified procedures contained in the new regulation entrust the task of ascertaining and the power to contest any violations of the rules for the protection of fauna and concerning the exercise of hunting and fishing activities.
Volunteers carry out the tasks assigned to them within the relative associations, in close collaboration with the Provincial Police and actively contributing to the planning of wildlife - hunting surveillance activities throughout the province.
The councilor for wildlife planning, Gabriella Montera, said, "With this Regulation, due recognition is given to the role played by the voluntary guards in promoting and respecting the rules on the protection of fauna and the environment in general and affirms a important principle of subsidiarity ".
