Hunting and Fauna: France, a Woodcock beats the longevity record, ringed about 19 years ago.
In the commune of Gouaux, in France, the true Queen of the Wood was captured, a woodcock ringed even 19 years ago. The trademark stamped on the ring was dated April 27, 1993 in the department of Doubs; the Queen was recaptured exactly 7121 days, or 19 years 5 months and 26 days later. The animal is still in good health and was released again after the measurements.
