Today, November 3, the president of the province, Luis Durnwalder, delivered the certificates of qualification to exercise the hunting activity to the eighty new hunters.
It proved difficult, both from a theoretical and practical point of view, the exam for the aspiring hunters of the province of Bolzano who tried their hand at this autumn session.
In fact, of the 210 candidates who presented themselves for the exam including an oral theoretical test and a practical shooting test, only 80 managed to successfully pass the required tests and thus obtain the qualification certificate; of the 29 female candidates only 16 passed the exam.
President Durnwalder himself, in his traditional speech, wanted to underline the importance that the exam is really a selection test so that the new hunters really have an adequate knowledge of the hunting activity in all its sporting aspects. and environmental protection.
Offering his congratulations to the new hunters, the president specified that adequate training is essential for those who dedicate themselves to hunting, "as game administrators", and since "hunters and hunters have a public function, which needs a suitable knowledge of hunting weapons, fauna to hunt, nature and the environment ". Another fundamental role of the hunter is to protect the traditions of the uses and customs typical of hunting.
Durnwalder, as an expert hunter, has given newcomers to hunting some advice including that of maintaining and cultivating good relationships with hunting companions and hunting traditions, turning their interest not only to the pleasure of hunting as an end in itself but also to protection. of the environment and fauna.
During the ceremony, President Durwalder wanted to highlight the importance of hunting, and the activities connected to it, in South Tyrol which must have its own objectives that of keeping the game populations healthy, which must also be characterized by the variety of species. .
