Dogs from Hunting. The carabinieri reported a monterossan hunter to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of mistreatment of animals.
Sunday morning a patrol car was traveling along the Provincial Road SP62 towards Monterosso when in one of the last hairpin bends it noticed a young man on the side of the road hunting dog small size visibly disoriented and afraid.
The military, got out of the car, approached the poor animal whose neck was tightened by an electric collar of those illegally used by some unscrupulous trainers who, in order to submit hunting dogs to their orders, do not hesitate to cause them suffering. The dog was then taken to Ragusa and entrusted to a local hunter considered by the carabinieri to be particularly serious and reliable.
The carabinieri then began investigations to find out who was responsible and bring him to justice. On Monday morning they took the dog to the canine registry and discovered that fortunately he was equipped with an identification microchip. Having discovered the name of the owner, a 53-year-old monterossano known for his hunting passion, the carabinieri of the Monterosso Almo station showed up at his door to look for the remote control.
The hunter, caught in the chestnut, sadly admitted that he was the owner of the dog and that he had put the collar on the dog so as not to let him go away. He then spontaneously handed over the remote control, avoiding the military to proceed with the house search. The man was then reported to the Public Prosecutor of the Hyblean Republic for the crime of mistreatment of animals which, for serious conduct, provides for the penalty of imprisonment from three months to one year.
