Hunting: Malta, the Maltese Prime Minister declares the STOP to spring hunting despite the victory in the Referendum in recent days aimed precisely at the abolition of this type of hunting.
It is a few weeks ago, on April 11, the victory in the referendum which had allowed Maltese hunters to practice the traditional form of spring hunting a turtledoves and quail, but the STOP is already coming. The Maltese Prime Minister, who had also been one of the supporters in favor of maintaining the hunting in spring, it also expressed its intention to stop it in the event of killing of protected species. Unfortunately, what was feared actually occurred and so, after the killing of a Kestrel yesterday, the Maltese Prime Minister kept his word by putting an end to the hunting season. Satisfaction on the part of animal rights activists, who had already reported violations of the rules on several occasions and other probable killing of protected species in the previous days. Reactions from the Maltese hunting world, well rooted in the social fabric of the island and very fierce in the defense of its passion, will certainly not be waited for.
