Itinerant Hunting Course in the province of Salerno: The Winter Championship has started.
Thanks to Fidasc, the Italian federation of hunting sports weapons disciplines, it was possible to organize in Campagna, in the province of Salerno, the 1st winter championship of itinerant hunting course. An event that can be considered as an experiment, as a transitional moment between the hunting period and the itinerant hunting world championship. A way to keep in training and to prepare for the 32nd world championship which this year will be held on the Italian territory at Laterina.
The territory used for this Italian experiment was made available by the structure "the valley of the hunter", an area unfortunately put to the test by the incessant rains of the last period. Regardless of the weather and ground conditions, 150 athletes from all over Italy, divided into regional teams, challenged each other on these territories. Two teams also participated, one from the province of Udine and the other from the province of Agrigento, of shooters from various Italian federal activities. A representative of these activities, Gregorio D'Ambrosio, won the Junior title.
Tuscany, Umbria and Campania the regions with the highest number of teams. A representative of Tuscany, Lorenzo Cerbone, was awarded the gold medal in the amateur category. But even the regions that participated with only one team showed great professionalism and ability in some cases even unexpected. The lady section has also been renewed. The women who participate in this type of initiative are almost always the same and, thus, it often happens to know from the outset who will win the victory. In this event, however, things went in another way. The winner of the lady section is the Friulian Simona Fontanini who has managed to assert herself even against athletes with a career behind her.
