Lark hunting prohibited in the Province of Genoa, Francesco Bruzzone brings the case to the Region. The Regional Councilor of the Northern League presented an interpellation to the President of the Liguria Region Claudio Burlando and his council, regarding the "additions of the Province of Genoa to the regional hunting calendar, 2014/2015 season".
“By resolution of the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Province of Genoa no. 117 of 26/08/2014, a ban on hunting the lark species was ordered ”, notes Bruzzone. “The taking of the lark is allowed by state law, by regional law and by hunting calendar regional validity. Furthermore, from the preparatory documents for the regional hunting calendar, there are no ISPRA findings on the hunt of the lark in Liguria, nor is the subject touched by the environmental associations that have appealed to the administrative courts against the same regional hunting calendar ". "The above, therefore, legally and scientifically certifies the huntablelark on the Ligurian territory, albeit with the planned mitigations of the daily and seasonal game bag and reduction of days. It should also be noted that the regional hunting calendar entrusts the Provinces with their additions the possibility of prohibiting or reducing hunting in certain areas for predetermined periods of certain species ... for justified reasons connected to the fauna consistency or due to particular environmental, seasonal and climatic conditions, as well as for diseases ascertained by the competent provincial ASL or other calamities' ”, adds the exponent of the Carroccio.
“It is appropriate to note that clearly the conditions do not exist to apply the 'possibilities' provided for by the Provincial Wildlife Hunting Plan of the Province of Genoa in relation to the activation of 'mitigation measures' of the sampling. Also noting that the envisaged ban on the taking of the lark does not fall within the possibilities referred to in the aforementioned rules of the regional hunting calendar, I consult the Governor Burlando and the Regional Council in order to know if there are other sustainable reasons that have led the Province of Genoa to order an unfounded and unacceptable ban ”, concludes Francesco Bruzzone, Regional Councilor of the Northern League in Liguria.
