Result of the important action of the Associations making up the unitary Control Room of the hunting world (FIdC, Enalcaccia, ANLC, Arcicaccia, ANUUM Migratoristi, Italcaccia, EPS, CNCN) fielded during the 2019 European elections towards the political world by asking candidates for specific commitments and concrete facts on environmental and management issues and the recognition of positive role of hunting, today an important goal has been achieved through the reconstitution of theIntergroup "Biodiveristà, Hunting and Rurality" at the European Parliament.
Many were the subscriptions to the manifesto of the control room by all political parties in order to obtain a qualified Italian representation within the Intergroup, which currently has 29 members. Today, following the announcement by the European Commission of the "New Green Deal", the Conference of Presidents approved the list of parliamentary intergroups for this legislature. The “Biodiversity, hunting and rurality” intergroup was among the few approved, despite a very long list of other applications.
The confirmation of this intergroup provides a strong political signal from Members of the European Parliament in support of key activities in European rural areas for biodiversity and affirms the role of hunting at an international level. Established for the first time in 1985 and always supported by national associations, in close collaboration with the European Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FACE), the Intergroup performs the fundamental function of aggregator of stakeholders within the European Parliament, allowing open discussions between decision makers, the European Commission and experts.
