There are areas of Sardinia that are defined "white areas", that is to say those in which the swine fever infection did not arrive: the hunters were forced to register and communicate their data for identification. Furthermore, they have the task of sending the withdrawals of a diaphragm sample on all slaughtered wild boars. In infected areas, on the other hand, there is a ban on hunting wild boar.
However, hunters who have made a request by last 15 July are authorized to carry out the hunting activity with a contact person who guarantees the compliance with health and management conditions. In the case of positive meat in the first serological test, it is necessary to destroy everything to deactivate the virus under the control of the official veterinarian.
