Il Court of L'Aquila condemned the Abruzzo region to compensate the damages suffered by the cars following the collision with a wild boar and other wildlife. The judges confirmed the first instance sentences and now we will have to deal with a very important judicial precedent. We often hear about ungulates crossing suddenly, impacting against the vehicles that are circulating.
The wild ones have the worst, but their size causes considerable damage to the machines. The appeal left no way out for the local authority: the lawyer Michael Acceptella of Francavilla al Mare explained how the favorable sentences of some justices of the peace Abruzzo were fundamental to arrive at this ruling. The precedent is considered practically unique in this matter.
The principle reaffirmed by the Court is that the Region is responsible for wildlife control. Furthermore, there was proof of all the elements that constitute the offense pursuant to article 2043 of the Civil Code ("Compensation for unlawful act"). The lawyer has been dealing with damages for years as a result of traffic accidents caused by wildlife, with wild boars representing the most emblematic and frequent case.
