On the next season's Hunting Calendar, the Regional Council presented itself to the Commission convinced that it would set the deadline for hunting turdidae at January 20, with an unshakable position.
“In strong disagreement with them, I obstructed: this put them in clear difficulty, also because they did not have the quorum to be able to carry on as long as they wanted. So, to get the practice approved, they were forced to approve my amendment proposal: after four hours of obstruction on my part, the closure of the turdidae hunt was set not on January 20, as the council wanted, but on 31 January. of January ". So says Francesco Bruzzone, hunter and group leader of the Northern League in the Regional Council of Liguria, regarding the end of the turdidae hunt in Liguria, within the Hunting Calendar of the next season. “A choice, which is confirmed by legal, scientific and political support. From a legal point of view, there are many administrative judgments that recognize the legitimacy of the closing date of January 31st, as well as the laws in force. From a scientific point of view there are countless studies, including those in progress, which claim that in January the song thrush is not in the pre-nuptial phase. This is also confirmed by the European data: thrushes in France, or in Corsica, are no longer late in the pre-nuptial phase than those in Italy. Europe itself cannot hold discriminatory attitudes between Italy and France, with respect to objective data dictated by mother nature ”, continues Bruzzone.
“The unjustified provision of the Renzi government, which last season brought forward the closing of the song thrush hunting in January in Liguria, it is on the one hand challenged legally, on the other completely unjustified, in a manifest way, from a scientific point of view. In the Commission in the Region, I spent all possible energy, for four consecutive hours, to change my mind and to approve my amendment that sets the deadline for January 31st. The Hunting Calendar will now have to be approved by the Regional Council, and will go to court next week. I express satisfaction, because when you are on the side of reason you must not give up on purely political mediation attempts. Hunting does not need political mediation, but it needs to be strongly defended. Even, if necessary, beating his fists on the table ”, concludes the Regional Councilor.
