Julius Borrelli, mayor of the Municipality of Atessa (province of Chieti), has published on his personal Facebook page a post that has to do with hunters, specifically those engaged in selecontrol of wild boars. Here is the text of his message: “I participated in a joke at the boar of the selecontrollers of our territory, authorized to turn, under the watchful eye of the provincial police. They are volunteer hunters who work to reduce the wild boar overpopulation, which have become a serious problem for our communities. We move in compliance with the laws, but we must say loud and clear that those laws must be changed because too restrictive".
The support is therefore encouraging and further developments are expected in the coming weeks. Atessa is a town of about 10 thousand inhabitants that is part of the Valsangro Mountain Community, as well as being the largest in the province in terms of extension. Borrelli was a well-known face to Italians because of his profession as a journalist.
It is in fact one of the historical faces of Tg1. The mayor of Abruzzo led the news for several years, to be precise until 2000, when he became correspondent and head of the RAI office in New York. His election dates back to last year, a choice not by chance given that Atessa is his hometown.
