In the province of Bologna i boars continue to be a serious problem, to the point that the Metropolitan City is looking for volunteers to work alongside the Provincial Police in control plans. Residents are increasingly concerned about the presence of wildlife, as are farmers and motorists. The danger to the personal safety and for crops it is huge, consequently the local authority is evaluating new applications.
As specified by the former Province, it was inspired by thearticle 16 of Regional Law 8 of 1994 (“Control of wildlife species”), taking advantage of the collaboration with the Emilia Romagna Region. To participate it is necessary to certify the activity carried out, then the Metropolitan City will evaluate the assistants authorized to hunt selection of ungulates, in particular reliability from a technical and operational point of view.
In addition, the results achieved by these volunteers in the last three years will be important, without forgetting the availability for two days a week. The emergency refers to different areas of the Bolognese area: the work of the volunteers is considered a fundamental support to the work of the provincial police, in the hope that the presence of these animals can be massively reduced. Already at February an intervention was carried out to kill a group of wild boars, specifically in Casalecchio di Reno.
