La The Tuscan Regional Authority presented the data relating to killing of ungulates during 2016. It is 19 thousand heads, as illustrated by Paolo Banti, one of the editors of the Objective Law and regional manager for what concerns the wildlife-hunting sector. The meeting was organized byProvincial Farmers Union of Siena with theGame Producers Authority.
Banti spoke of encouraging numbers, as well as of goals achieved and exceeded. In 2015, the number of wild culled, between control and selection hunting, had stopped at an altitude of 11500. Siena is one of the most interesting case studies in this sense. The 5100 ungulates that were killed were almost double, more than double compared to what happened twelve months earlier. Among other things, in Siena there have been many requests for the exam that enables selection hunting.
The meeting was titled "Ungulates, how to defend yourself”And served to identify the best procedures to protect agricultural production from the damage caused by these animals. Still focusing on the Sienese province, it turned out that last year damage from wildlife exceeded 800 million euros, most of which caused by herds of wild boars (as much as 72% to be precise).
