The situation in the Umbrian ATCs
“In Atc1, following the method indicated by us, we achieved the rapid election of the president and the agreed choice of the Bureau and other positions, rewarding competence and merit in the interest of the entire territory. In the ATC2, however, the requests of the hunting world were not listened to and the most representative hunting associations were excluded, so much so that to date no commission has been established and no auditors have been appointed, except that of the region. In the Atc3 even the Committee was not able to choose a president from within itself, placing everything in the hands of president Tesei. Evidently the members appointed by politics have disregarded the appointment mandate." This was declared by the regional councilors Valerio Mancini, Manuela Puletti and Marco Castellari (Lega).
Crop protection
The three representatives of the League recall the importance of the role played by the ATC: "At a time when farmers are struggling with the decline in production due to climatic adversities and with increases in production costs, effective action is important to protect crops from invasive species. And this can only happen by recognizing the fundamental role played by hunters within what, not surprisingly, are called Territorial Hunting Areas, and for territorial protection policies they manage hundreds of thousands of euros which are largely money of the hunters themselves."
Dissatisfaction and stalemate
Mancini, Puletti and Castellari indicate the "responsibilities that led to this situation, considered unsatisfactory for the Atc2 and still a stalemate for the Atc3: unfortunately where our proposals were not listened to and it was chosen to follow another method, by not taking into proper consideration the requests of the hunting world, the result is to penalize the entire territory, including farmers. And all this is the fault of those individuals who, a priori, try to oppose hunters, not recognizing their fundamental role" (source: Regional Council of Umbria).
