Hunting in Veneto: the TAR revoked the suspension of the regional hunting calendar, taking note of the changes made to the document by the Region; green light for hunters, you can hunt.
The Administrative Court of Veneto favorably assessed the changes and additions made by the Region to the Hunting Calendar, which was then reapproved by the Regional Council, thus deciding to revoke the suspension that in recent days has made life difficult for Venetian hunters; it therefore seems that we can go back to hunting on the regional territory. The evaluation of merit by the judges of the TAR on the appeal presented by environmentalists against the Venetian Hunting Calendar will take place in the session of next October 30th but in the meantime the Venetian hunters will be able to take advantage of the truce to practice hunting for 19 species of migratory birds. which had previously been banned precisely at a time when the migration step seems to be at its peak.
Despite today's victory, the provincial president of Federcaccia, Alessandro Salvelli, expresses his regret for the "lost ten days of hunting", points the finger at environmentalists, stating "Our rights and their rights must be equalized. This story must lead us to reflect on how to resist their siege. We can no longer stand this exasperated environmentalism. It seems a contradiction but it is not: by spending their money, hunters actively contribute to the conservation of the environment and game precisely to ensure continuity in the hunt. Environmentalists, on the other hand, consume public money for their activities ”.
Even the provincial president of the Veneti Hunters Association, Massimo Moranduzzo, commented on the question, “Finally common sense prevails over illogic. It is not possible that the hunting world is harassed in this way and that politics prostrate itself to any instance of the environmentalists ”.
The Veneto Region, however, says it is optimistic and yesterday, with its own press release, the regional councilor for hunting, Daniele Stival, informed all interested parties of the reapproval with changes and additions to the Hunting Calendar.
In fact, the press release reads, “The regional council today reapproved the Veneto Hunting Calendar with changes and additions. The re-adoption - explained the councilor for hunting activities Daniele Stival - took place on the basis of a more analytical rereading of the opinion expressed at the time on the original proposal by ISPRA, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, and taking into account the suspension of the calendar itself decided by the Veneto Regional Administrative Court, which partially accepted the appeal of some environmental associations, pending the discussion on the merits. In particular, we have better described the relative limits of 19 species of the SPEC (Species of European Conservation Concern) annexes and added further reasons for hunting in SIC (Site of Community Importance) and ZPS (Special Protection Area) areas ".
Great satisfaction for the councilor Stival who after the suspension of the suspension commented, “From tomorrow the hunt can resume with the new rules we have defined. We await the judgment on the merits, but the adjustments made, which led the Administrative Court of Veneto to review the suspension, tell us that the path taken is the right one, because it is based on a correct, analytical and non-prejudicial reading of the rules and regulations. of the institutional opinions on hunting by the Region ".
For the Venetian hunters practically nothing has changed except for the fact “that you cannot shoot in the lagoon with lead shots”. Furthermore, Stival was keen to clarify "Compared to the hunting plans developed by my predecessors, the current one does not foresee substantial changes in sizing, location, technical characteristics, quantities of fauna that can be taken".
