Twelve months without the possibility of hunting wild boars due toassignment of an unsuitable area. This is the reason given by the Justice of the Peace to condemn theTerritorial hunting area of Avezzano, who will have to pay a thousand euros to a local hunter. What exactly happened? As reconstructed and explained by the newspaper Il Centro, a 36-year-old turned to two lawyers because of his and his team's assignment of an area for wild boar hunting called "La Cesalonga". The choice of the ATC was not liked from the beginning and the hunters pointed this out to the Province of L'Aquila that the area was characterized by a series of criticalities and risks.
The area has been studied and studied in depth and the Abruzzo Province itself has recognized the dangers complained of and the unsuitability for hunting: in addition, an executive turned to Giacomo Di Domenico, number one of the Avezzanese Hunting Territorial Area, so that he could look for an alternative and suitable area for a group of 22 people. The solution has never been proposed or even found and we have reached the trial. In addition to the 36-year-old, the other 21 hunters of the "I Limieri" team have regularly paid taxes to guarantee their registration in the Sector, but have not had the opportunity to kill the wild boars during the hunting season 2013-2014.
At this point, as also recalled by Il Centro, appeals to the judge similar to the one we are talking about are expected, given that this is now an important precedent. The hunter's trial could "inspire" the rest of the team with the same judicial process. In addition to the one thousand euros of compensation mentioned above, the Sector will be forced to pay the legal fees which in this case amount to 1700 euros.
The complaint to the Court of Auditors on the part of the "Limieri" hunters it is a concrete possibility, taking into account the fact that such exhibits do not represent an absolute novelty as regards Abruzzo. The Regional Council definitively approved the regulation for wild boar hunting in this area about two years ago (in May 2014 to be precise): the Territorial Hunting Areas are asked to deliver to each team a batting register (with the minutes) in which to report the identification data, the number of hunters and the list. Teams usually consist of an inclusive group of people between 5 and 15 units, including a foreman and at least two deputy foremen.
