Benevento: Regulations for wild boar hunting of the Wildlife-Hunting Plan of the Province of Benevento.
Rome, May 20 - "I want to thank the hunting associations, the Offices of the Province, the people of the manager Elisabetta Cuoco and the vicar Antonio Castellucci, the Commission of the Provincial Council for the Environment and Agriculture, coordinated by President Franco Damiano, and all its members, both majority and opposition, which improved the text originally formulated and brought it approved ”. This is the comment of the provincial councilor Gianluca Aceto in relation to the approval by the Provincial Council, unanimously, of the regulation of wild boar hunting in the Sannio.
“This is - continued the commissioner - a very important objective achieved on the four implementing regulations of the Wildlife-Hunting Plan of the Province of Benevento which this year reaches its natural expiration. In fact, work will begin shortly for its updating. After a long confrontation, which began within the hunting world, - continued Aceto - the regulation for wild boar hunting saw the fruitful work of the competent council commission, which made changes that can be summarized in the following points: possibility of hunting also the foxes during wild boar hunts; the right to use two-way radios for the exclusive purpose of safety; passage of the municipal territory of Frasso Telesino from the Valle Telesina-Titerno district to that of Isclero, and finally some modest changes for shot hunting.
During the Council, a final amendment provided for the revision of the regulation within three years of its entry into force. Our Province - added the commissioner - reaches a historic milestone in the hunting field, being among the very few in the South to boast a regulation in this sector. Nothing was hastily imposed from above, but the less easy path of consultation and transparency was chosen, a solution that made it possible to reconcile the requests of environmental and agricultural associations with those of the hunting world.
Among the qualifying elements it should be noted the entrusting of the hunting districts to the registered teams, who will have to prepare and implement a management plan. In other words, the hunters are directly made responsible for the management of the territory, under the supervision and direction of the Province ”. Then Aceto concluded as follows: “Now let's move on to updating the wildlife-hunting plan, while the first provincial fish map is already underway.
We want to equip the territory with effective planning tools, to be brought to life with the contribution and participation of hunters and fishermen ”.
