During a hunting trip near Bassett, in the province of Latina, a 52-year-old hunter was injured following theattack of two bulls. The incident occurred yesterday, Sunday 21 January 2018, when the Alpine rescue intervened in the area to help the man, who was seriously injured. The 52-year-old lives in Anzio, a marine town in the province of Rome, and was participating in one wild boar hunting trip in a wood between Sermoneta and Norma.
According to the reconstruction of the facts, the first bull would have been frightened by one of the gunshots, while the second animal would have hit the man in the leg, leaving on the ground bleeding. The hunter's companions then contacted the rescue after realizing what had happened.
The air ambulance then arrived on the spot and transported the wounded to the Aurelia Hospital in Rome. No other details are known about his health condition. It seems that the rifle shot was exploded in the air by the 52-year-old himself, but it is not clear if his intention was to drive away the first bull.
