Hunting in Abruzzo: the Tar of L'Aquila suspends the Regional Hunting Calendar in most of its contents with an urgent decree to protect the bear and other endangered species.

The environmentalists are obviously satisfied; the vice president of WWF Italy, Dante Caserta, criticizing the work of the Region said, "We have just learned this important news that accounts for the umpteenth time of the very serious situation regarding the choices in hunting matters of the Councilor Febbo and his staff in the Department of Agriculture ".

Continuing Caserta explained, "The TAR has recognized the serious danger deriving from choices on bear, hunting in the very fragile sites of the Natura 2000 SIC and ZPS network and for various species with an unfavorable conservation status, such as Skylark, Quail, Tortora, Woodcock, Marzaiola , Snipe, Pochard and Lapwing ".

Pressing criticism Caserta states, "It is a pity that we were unable to present the appeal earlier, also due to the fact that the Abruzzo Regional Council launched the calendar on July 30th, publishing it on August 31st, starting dog training even on August 15st. , the day after publication! The law requires the Calendar to be launched by June 1th and it is clear that these are tricks to delay our appeals. Finally Caserta concludes his criticism by saying, "The commissioner Febbo was refractory to our appeals to stop the pre-opening due to the drought with laughable reasons given that in the same days he was going to Rome to solicit recognition of the state of disaster for agriculture precisely because of the drought ".
