Hunting Dogs: Friuli, hounds freed to flush out game mistaken for stray dogs; question in the Regional Council, "We need order to avoid absurd fines".
Flurries of absurd and illogical fines for hound hunters. The reason? The dogs, released to track down the game, are mistaken for strays, and administrative penalties are issued for the shotguns, which are charged for the cost of the call, the reading of the microchip, the capture and maintenance of the dog in the kennel. And even in the event of a dispute, the hunters must bear the costs and burdens of the practice. "I ask the region and the province to put an end to this misunderstanding". Thus the regional councilor Mara Piccin, with an ad hoc question, invites the Region to "prepare regulations or actions that finally clarify". Piccin reminds that "all following dogs, in order to be used by hunters in the collection of ungulates, must obtain a qualification issued by the competent Province that certifies their aptitudes and correctness for such use, as well as obedience to the conductor. It is clear, therefore, that the hound runs the hunting activity only when he obtains all the qualifications of the Province, so whoever is in good standing cannot be forced to defend himself from accusations, often made in good faith, but which have not reason to exist ".
