La Lombardy region officially approved the new subdivision of the agro-forestry-pastoral territory in suitable and unsuitable areas for what concerns the wild boar. The decision was long awaited by farmers and hunters and the subdivision was made based on the consistency and frequency of damage caused by ungulates. The same goes for the valuable crops and the previous management methods of the species.
The management of the wild will take place in the so-called suitable areas through hunting and control sampling, while in those unsuitable through control and the selection hunting sampling. Here's what the suitable areas in the presence of wild boars: Unit E Lecco / Bergamo, Unit A Insubria Varese, Unit B Insubria Como / Lago, Unit C Insubria Como / Triangolo, Unit D Pavia Oltrepo, Unit F Brescia.
Le unsuitable areasinstead, these will be: Unit N Bergamo Pianura, Unit P Orobie Bergamasche, Unit G Pavia, Unit H Metropolitan City, Unit I Padana, Unit L Brescia Pianura, Unit M Brianza, Unit O Insubria, Unit Q Valle Camonica and Valle Sabbia , Unit R Sondrio. Finally, over the next few weeks, they will get to know each other better the various ways of managing ungulates and monitoring of the results obtained.
