In the Territorial Areas of Hunting of the Province of Mantua, the closure of sedentary game hunting was brought forward from 2 December 2012.
According to the resolution of the Provincial Council that approved the "Provincial Additions to the Regional Calendar for the 2011/2012 Hunting Season", the hunting levy for each Territorial Hunting Area was set at point 4, establishing the maximum number of sedentary wildlife animals that could be taken during the 2011/2012 hunting season.
According to the same resolution, the “early closure of hunting for sedentary game only (hare, pheasant and gray partridge) was envisaged, at the request of the ATC, if it was ascertained that the aforementioned hunting levy had been achieved”.
In recent days, the Province received the request for early closure of the hunt from the Management Committees of all six Mantuan Hunting Territorial Areas as they had ascertained, by monitoring the game bags reported on the hunting cards of the ATC, that the maximum number of traceable wildlife had already been achieved.
