Savona: The Savona hunters will participate in the ecological day organized by the province and which aims to clean up the environment and the Savona countryside from waste.
This morning, at the headquarters of the provincial administration, Councilor Livio Bracco presented the 2011 edition of the "Ecological day" which will take place on Sunday 17 April in Savona and is aimed at cleaning the woods in Conca Verde, Monte Ciuto, Madonna del Monte.
The promoters of the event, organized in collaboration with the Province of Savona, are the Territorial Areas of Hunting and the hunting associations (Federcaccia, Arcicaccia, Enalcaccia, Libercaccia, Italcaccia, Anuu and Cpal). The supply of materials and waste disposal is handled by FG Riciclaggi di Ferrania. All citizens who want to participate will be able to contribute concretely to clean up the environment of waste abandoned in our woods by making an appointment on Sunday morning at 8 at the Conca Verde square in via alla Strà.
"Also this year the" Ecological Day "will be an important opportunity for civic education - said the Provincial Councilor for hunting Livio Bracco - organized by the Province and by the territorial areas of hunting and hunting associations, to sensitize citizens on the problem, unfortunately still very widespread, of the abandonment of garbage in the woods and in our meadows.
I hope that there will also be a great participation by the citizens, in particular by families who will take the opportunity to take a walk in our 'green' by combining a moment of aggregation and fun with a work necessary to preserve and preserve the heritage that nature has given us.
With this initiative we also want to better understand the role of the hunter, often demonized, who, together with environmentalists and animal rights activists, plays an important role in safeguarding the woods - continues Councilor Bracco.
In fact, hunters and fishermen often put out fires, take care of cleaning the wooded areas and rivers and, in general, are committed to enhancing our territory ".
