The Umbrian regional council pre-adopted an act that modifies the regional regulation for the discipline of wild boar hunting.
With the amendment to the regulation made by the Regional Council of Umbria, the suspension of registration in the ATC registers for wild boar hunting teams is extended for another year, therefore for the entire 2012-2013 hunting season. In the Umbria region alone, divided into the three ATCs, there are about 280 wild boar hunting teams that can count a total of about ten thousand hunters.
The amendment document in question was proposed by the Councilor for Hunting, Fernanda Cecchini, and affects the Regional Regulation 34 of 1999 for the discipline of hunting wild boar, as explained by the commissioner, "in order to reduce the number of the teams and encourage mergers, so as to increase the effectiveness of the jokes and limit the territorial surface occupied. This will favor the control of the wild boar population, in consideration of the considerable increase in the damage caused to agriculture by this species in recent years ".
Cecchini continues explaining, “To this end, the Region is working, in collaboration with the Provinces and ATC, to rapidly approve the extraordinary plan for the containment of wild boars. The extension, which also responds to requests from a large part of the hunting world, has been renewed pending the definition of the specific bill for the reorganization, reorganization and modification of the ATCs on which the department is working ”.
In conclusion, the councilor for hunting affirms, "A commitment in line with the recent decisions taken by the council regarding the reorganization of local administrations".
