Hunting accident: today afternoon, in the province of Nuoro, an eighteen year old young man was killed by a shot fired by his hunting companion.
During a wild boar hunt in the countryside around Nuoro, a young man who was turning 18 just today died; the young man, originally from Lodè, was in the countryside of the town, on Montalbo, in the locality of Guzzurra, together with a hunting company. The boar joke had just ended and the young man was walking down a country road to return to the car.
It was just after 13pm when one of his batting mates saw a wild boar go by and shot. According to what has been learned, the ball would have changed trajectory perhaps after hitting a guard raill, reaching the young man in the chest, who immediately collapsed to the ground. The 118 doctors arrived on the spot, as well as a helicopter for immediate transport to the hospital but all attempts to revive the young man were useless, the boy did not make it. The body was transferred to the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro, where an autopsy should be carried out tomorrow.
The carabinieri of the Compagnia di Bitti intervened on the spot and ascertained the dynamics of the facts and established that the bullet may have undergone a deviation of the trajectory; the hunting companion who shot was however charged with manslaughter.
This is the third victim in Sardinia this Hunting Season. In November a twelve-year-old from Irgoli was killed in similar circumstances, the following week Paolo Serra, 66, died in San Pantaleo.
