The “Tortellata dello sport” event was held in Baiso, in the province of Reggio Emilia, an event for raising funds to be donated to earthquake victims.
The hunters of the Baisio Selection Hunters Association were invited to the charity event and set up a stand for the display of ungulate trophies, tracing and recovery objects; the dogs of the recuperators aroused great sympathy in the public.
We publish the letter to the editorial staff of the Baiso Selection Hunters Association:
Dear Editorial board,
I am writing on behalf of the group of selection hunters of the municipality of Baiso, Reggio Emilia.
On Sunday 3 June we were invited to participate in the “Tortellata dello sport” event, a party held in the streets of the town, whose fundraising was donated to the earthquake victims of our provinces.
"Removed from the hat" the few means and the great enthusiasm, we set up a stand in which trophies of both local and alpine ungulates were exhibited, among which various examples of deer, roe deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar stood out for their grandeur and beauty. awarded with medal.
Friends recoverers attended with their very nice and hyper-photographed dogs, also setting up an interesting corner with objects and documentation concerning the tracing and recovery activities.
Such was the satisfaction for having been invited, for having been able to welcome people of all ages, for having been able to talk to so many young people including many children and for having been able to satisfy their genuine and clear curiosity.
It was important to bring people who are strangers to our environment and our passion closer by exchanging “knowledge” and opinions. On balance, taking and leaving a memory of simple genuine humanity wasn't all that difficult.
Wanting to share this positive experience, we thank those who, hunters, visitors, young and old, have made it so alive.
Kind regards and good work
Luca Manenti
