Barbara Mazzali, councilor of the Brothers of Italy in Lombardy region, commented on what happened regarding the donations from hunters and the controversy triggered by animal welfare associations: “Le WORDS of animal rights activists: some small local groups, as reported by the control room, have learned of the large donations that the hunters have made to help the fight against Coronavirus and evidently they have lost their minds.
So they spread the false rumor that the donations of the hunters were made with the money of the state, thus passing the personal generosity as an effortless act. THE FACTS of hunters: the hunting world does not receive any direct funding from the state. It receives only a partial rebate of an additional share to the state and regional concessions that every single hunter pays every year. The reality is that each of us, as much as he could, put his hands in his wallet and donated to hospitals, civil protection or the Region.
The hunting associations have not only collected donations, but they themselves put what they had in cash for the common good. Thanks to this generosity we have reached 1 million and 600 thousand euros of money donated by the hunters. I am proud of all of you. And the animal rights activists instead? Can they say the same? Usually when you criticize others with baseless motives, it is because there are no others valid arguments. But everyone responds to their own conscience and, as usual, ours is crystal clear ”.
As a hunter, I am sorry that so many people behave badly, even in the most urgent moments like in this moment of the coronavirus, but it does not matter ... the important thing is that human lives do not die and, who can contribute does it, these are the difficult moments for everyone and we must be present when needed and sincerely love and respect each other, life is like this, and we forgive, with affection for all humanity ROCCO C.
