Federcaccia Lazio - Migratory Birdlife Office on the new regional hunting calendar, the Region ignores the TAR.
In relation to the press release issued in recent days by the Lazio Region on the choices made in the 2013-14 hunting calendar, the Federcaccia Lazio and the Migratory Birds Office reaffirm what was declared following the issue of the provision, or that the decisions adopted constitute in practice restrictions imposed on hunters without any justification of a technical nature, as the hunting calendar of the previous season had survived unscathed the appeal to the Regional Administrative Court advanced by the environmentalist acronyms. This means that the reasons and regulations established in the 2012-'13 calendar resolution had been considered founded by the Administrative Court which had found legitimate a daily bag of larks of 20 heads and not 10; the hunting of the tufted duck allowed from November 1st; quail hunting allowed until December 31st and not October 31st; no seasonal limit for species not reported by Ispra: snipe, gadwall, whisk, garganey, shoveler, pochard.
The argument adopted by the Lazio Region in relation to Spec species is completely inconsistent, as this definition, we repeat it once again, is not the position of the European Union, but the simple judgment on BirdLife International, among other things very often contradicted by other avifauna study institutes such as Wetland International and AEWA.
The Federcaccia Lazio in collaboration with the other hunting associations adhering to the coordination of Face Italia will therefore still request the modification of these points of the regional hunting calendar 2013-14.
