Federcaccia presented the exhibition dedicated to the great hunting and nature lover Teodoro Laurenti yesterday morning in Spoleto.
Poetry, values, images, sensations: roots. Above all roots. There is all the charm of an atavistic passion, which lives through the new generations ready to take over the baton of Diana, in the photographic exhibition dedicated to Teodoro Laurenti, a gentleman, illustrious Spoleto and (feder) emeritus hunter, in love with nature, with the seasons , of life and animal behavior.
Yesterday morning, May 10, 2012, in the meeting room of the municipal Federcaccia of Spoleto, the painstaking work of collecting and cataloging dozens and dozens of images, articles, poems, reflections put in black and white by the late Teodoro Laurenti was presented to the media . A work that is the result of the commitment and passion of the journalist Vladimiro Palmieri, for years the author of the periodical "Diana" and now part of "Sentieri di Caccia", a reference magazine for the Italian hunting world.
Laurenti's widow, Gianna Beltrami - pictured next to Palmieri - and her son Stefano were present at the event. The honors of the house went to the regional president of Federcaccia Umbra Franco Di Marco and the provincial vice president of Perugia, as well as municipal president of the Federcaccia di Spoleto, Luciano Calabresi. Special guest Sergio Zinni of the Ca.Ri.Spo. Foundation, who financed the entire initiative for the recovery, reorganization and exhibition of the material. The municipal administration also took part in the initiative, with the councilor for Sport - as well as federcacciatore - Giancarlo Cintioli, who recalled the meritorious work carried out by Laurenti for the good of his city - he was president of the Proloco di Spoleto - and for the diffusion of the hunting art, his true great passion of all time.
“Teodoro Laurenti - these are the words of the regional president of Federcaccia, Franco Di Marco - was a serious, cultured and, above all, effective writer. I had the honor of giving him our recognition shortly before his disappearance. Then, together with Palmieri, we decided to pay homage to him with this exhibition, which will be presented at the next edition of the Ca.Pe.Tav fair. in Bastia Umbra (from 18 to 20 May next, ed). Once the fair is over, the exhibition will remain on permanent display in the Federcaccia in Spoleto, which will soon be moving to a larger venue ".
Laurenti's wife and son expressed their personal gratitude to Vladimiro Palmieri, Federcaccia and Fondazione Ca.Ri.Spo. “It's a wonderful initiative”, said Stefano Laurenti, visibly moved. “From my father I didn't inherit the passion for hunting, but certainly the passion for nature, animals and work”.
Then it was the turn of Vladimiro Palmieri, who dedicated time and passion at “zero cost” to the realization of the exhibition. “No other subject like hunting lends itself to bragging - said Palmieri - and instead Teodoro wrote and photographed reality. He went from Spoleto to Florence by train to deliver his articles to Diana's editorial staff, took photos during the operations of capture and repopulation, of the fight against pests, during dog races, dog shows, hunted with friends, snacks, immersed walks in nature.
He was a good writer and also a man who knew how to dream. Now - concluded the curator - after having found the funds to carry out the exhibition, it would be nice to find the necessary resources also for the publication of the catalog, to close the circle and complete this tribute we wanted to make to Teodoro Laurenti ”.
A hypothesis, that of the financing of the catalog, was welcomed with interest and availability by Sergio Zinni of the Ca.Ri.Spo. Foundation, who hoped that there would also be the competition of other subjects for the publication of the volume.
