We learn of the scandal triggered by the declaration of the presenter Flavio Insinna, host of the game "The legacy" on the RAI1 channel, who allegedly said that "Hunting would not be a sport"because killing animals cannot be "sporty". In practice, in a transmission where importance is given to the meaning of words, Insinna said nonsense, even linguistic. Moreover, a sign of a lack of reflection or, at least, an examination of the meaning of the Anglo-Saxon term “sport”.
Obviously the hunters (Federcaccia in primis) were unleashed by rightly asserting that in a broadcast on the public network a presenter should remain super partes and not already make partisan propaganda. Obviously, and consequently, anti-hunts have been unleashed on social networks. Not to mention well-known personalities who declared themselves supporters of Insinna. Then it will be good for someone to explain to these "all-rounders" (televisions and media in general are full of them), but also at the caciarona base of social media, that the term "sport" comes to us from the British, who do not mean by this term not a practice at all, so-called "sport" in the sense of agonistic that we Italians give it, but of recreational activities in the open air. And hunting is one of these activities.
Just as it falls within the activities of outdoor that in Italy many (and, worst of all, politicians!) believe it is a cycling activity with mountain bikes, while that is all that is practiced. sports, in fact, in the open air, therefore: hunting and fishing included! If the anticaccias are made a reason, or a new term that excludes hunting from these activities: which, however, will only be an Italian coglionata and a sign, once again, of our usual arrogant Italianness!
