One of the programmatic points of the hunting poster promoted by the control room of the hunting world was that of the enhancement and rediscovery of role of hunters. A very useful initiative in this sense, however, is dividing. These are the meetings organized by CONARMI (Italian Armourers Consortium) between hunters and elementary school students of Gardone Val Trompia and Marcheno, in the province of Brescia.
The shotguns enter the classroom with dogs, stuffed birds and the book "The hunter in a fairy tale", a text that tells and rehabilitates the figure of the hunter with eleven stories. This is an important way to distinguish hunting from poaching. The animal rights activists have risen, as was easily imaginable, but CONARMI wants to continue on its own path. The president of the Consortium, Pierangelo Pedersoli, recalled how the hunting of fauna is controlled, without forgetting the usefulness of killing of wild boars, a rather serious problem.
Not all public opinion seems convinced, but the fact remains that the lessons are having great success. The pupils follow with great curiosity and there are many mothers who thanked the hunters for having respected and valued local traditions. Other schools from other nearby locations (for example Lodrino and Sarezzo) intend to follow this example, a sign that there is a greater awareness of hunting.
