This morning the Sardinian hunters took to the streets to demonstrate against the penalizing changes to the Hunting Calendar.
A thousand hunters, coming from all over Sardinia, are demonstrating from 9.30 in Cagliari, in front of the Regional Department of the Environment, to contest the changes to the hunting calendar that limit the activity of side-by-side shotguns.
The viale Trieste building is guarded by police in fear of riot. The protest is very loud, but peaceful: the hunters make themselves heard with chants, slogans, whistles and trumpets.
The demonstrators are awaiting the results of the Wildlife Committee: the meeting that could overturn the latest corrections to the calendar is scheduled for 11. "We paid the taxes for a calendar - explains Marco Pisanu, president of the Caccia Pesca Ambiente association - and ce we are facing another ".
Discomfort also for the traffic in the center: access to via Roma from viale Trieste at the height of the Department has been blocked. The hunters will explain to the press during the morning the reasons for their protest and the planned initiatives.
