Hunting and Territory: Macerata, in ATC 2 the project to restore the hedges in the countryside is started.
In the Macerata countryside, as in the rest of Italy, with the disappearance of sharecropping and the consequent use of increasingly larger agricultural machinery, in fact, it has led to the disappearance from the countryside of all those hedges that divided the various properties. This has caused negative consequences for all the small avifauna, both from the point of view of nesting and food.
Therefore, the Management Committee of the ATC MC 2 also this year, in collaboration with some farmers and hunters, has purchased numerous plants of laurel, hawthorn, blackthorn, to restore, in areas suitable for small wildlife, hedges, which they will certainly be used in the future for nesting and as trophic resources, especially in the winter period.
Environmental restoration is one of the essential conditions if we want to have both huntable and protected wildlife on our territory; the contribution of all is indispensable: farmers, hunters, environmentalists, united to recreate the suitable conditions for the rest and nesting of all the small avifauna. Clearly, the ATC makes contributions to all the owners and tenants of the funds that collaborate in this initiative called “PROGETTO ALLORO“. Anyone interested in the project can call ATC MC 2 tel. 0733/283106 to agree on the methods of planting the tree species object of the project.
