The Piedmont Region rejects the Election Day hypothesis to merge both the referendum on hunting and the administrative elections on the same day.
The Piedmont Region says no to Election day. The referendum on hunting and the local elections that will take place in the spring will not be merged. This was established by the Regional Council which rejected the agendas presented by the councilor Andrea Stara (Per Bresso) and by the 5 Star Movement, in which they asked to vote on the same day for both consultations.
Andrea Stara complains about the costs of the referendum, stating that the interest of one party prevails, "the hunters lobby", and that the Region will pass on the cost of the consultation to the citizens: "The non-compliance of the Region - explains the councilor, referring to the failure to choose the date - it has already cost the community the court costs of the appeal to the TAR. Now there was a concrete opportunity for economic savings, but the center-right said no ”.
The 5 Star Movement also thinks so, which, through the words of Davide Bono, adds to the dose by stating that the Region has chosen to renounce potential savings of 3-4 million euros, unloading the burden on the citizens, called to great economic sacrifices.
The referendum must be held between April 15 and June 15. In the same period, approximately 600 Piedmontese will go to the vote to renew the administrations of 80 Municipalities and three Provinces.
