Management and recovery of cultural and traditional aspects connected to hunting in order to increase its valorisation. This is discussed in the second edition of the conference "Weidmanns'heil!" which will be held on 9, 10 and 11 September in Spello (PG).
After the success of the first edition in 2010, Weidmanns'heil! Returns, the appointment of the Province of Perugia with the hunting world, its traditions and its perspectives.
This time we will talk about the enhancement of hunting from a management point of view and the recovery of the cultural and traditional aspects connected to it, outlining the possibility of training and communication proposals for operators in the sector.
It is a question of increasing the noble aspects of hunting, such as hunting ethics, knowledge and protection of the environment, the correct use of the natural resources that our territory makes available to us also in the form of wildlife that can be taken. .
Communication between the hunting world and society turns out to be a strategic issue for the future of hunting, so that environmental education projects can also be used as a means of disseminating the hunting culture.
At the base there must be a profound cultural renewal of the hunters, who see in this a fundamental duty and the only possibility of survival of the hunting activity in our country, in which, moreover, there is no lack of significant opportunities for collecting fauna.
Opportunities that could be expanded with the current discussion and revision of the “derogations”, a necessary moment of confrontation between local, national and community scientific and administrative institutions, of which many representatives are present here.
The trophy exhibitions and taxidermy activities (with the appropriate reports and the display of specific dioramas) are also part of this framework, which bring close observation of shy and elusive animals, difficult to meet in nature, within everyone's reach. .
It is not a question of seeing “stuffed” animals, but of knowing the techniques and peculiarities of making dioramas with specimens reproduced in plastic attitudes, inserted in the environmental contexts they usually frequent.
