Hunting will be prohibited in the San Colombano di Suzzara (MN) Park due to the establishment of a protected area.
Within the park of San Colombano di Suzzara, in the province of Mantua, in the ATC 2 area, a protected area will be born in which no hunting activity can be carried out.
The proposal was launched, with the favorable opinion of the Province of Mantua, by the Municipality of Suzzara and by the Territorial Hunting Area number 2. The area concerned is 53 hectares. The novelty was illustrated by the councilor for defense and enhancement of the territory Giulio Davoglio with the official Andrea Nodolini and by Luciano Corradini, for the Committee. The area has already been delimited with the appropriate tables showing the indications for the ban on hunting.
The park of San Colombano, of supra-municipal interest, was established in 1999. It is a natural area that offers the opportunity to get to know the floodplain environment of the Po; it extends for 730 hectares on 7 kilometers of river bank. Over time, reforestation with native species and the creation of wooded strips along the river has been promoted.
And right inside the natural park, on the afternoon of yesterday 15 August, the tenth edition of the "memorial of reconciliation" was held, promoted by the Riva Center for Local History Studies with the patronage of the Municipalities of Suzzara (MN) and Luzzara (KING).
These are moments of prayer and thoughts of peace intended to commemorate the sacrifice of 7 thousand fighters who on 15 August 1702 sacrificed their lives during a bloody battle on the Suzzarese floodplains of Luzzara and which was part of the war of the Spanish succession. fought on the Italian territory.
As is known, the war broke out after the death of the King of Spain Charles II who died in 1700 without direct heirs. For this reason he appointed Duke Philip of Anjou, nephew of Louis XIV, his heir, the Sun King, alarming all European states that feared French dominance.
Spain, Portugal, France and Savoy were opposed by a side with Austria, Holland and England. The armies invaded Lombardy and Emilia.
