The “Sagra del Fusillo Felittese” is back for the 37th edition, the unique Flavor of Our Tradition from 14 to 25 August 2012 in Felitto (SA).
The Calore River flows slowly, while embracing its Gorges, on the laughing hill extends an ancient village with a high castle: it is Felitto nel Cilento that presents us with great energy its beauties, its history, the unique flavors to be tasted handed down by various centuries.
The Pro Loco presents the "Sagra del Fusillo Felittese" from 14 to 25 August in the town square. The Sagra del Fusillo Felittese is a food and wine event that takes place punctually every year, in the second decade of August, since 1976. The event was born with the aim of promoting the typical local dish "Il Fusillo Felittese" which still preserves intact the Unique Flavor of the Felittese Tradition.
The undisputed and delicious protagonist is always him, the “Fusillo Felittese”, a typical dish handed down for centuries and from mother to daughter, loved and enjoyed. This dish of the local culinary tradition is prepared with great love, requires simple and natural ingredients and is worked by hand with a special and thin iron. The first edition of this festival dates back to 1976 and since then from year to year the Fusillo on the tables royal as a prince remains, speaks to the palate, very exquisite, and gives everyone a rare goodness.
Il Fusillo, also this year for lunch and dinner, delights us with the mutton and veal ragù, with a toast of local wine and with other local specialties such as: appetizer, grilled meat, wild boar sausage, trout and shy and poverello also presents the "ciaulieddo".
To cheer the evenings of Felicia there will be: shows, conferences, music and culture, photographic exhibitions, painting exhibitions of prof. Suriano and the artist Rita Corrente. Coming to Felitto, visiting the Gorges, the historic center, the Museum of Rural Life, tasting fusillo and other local dishes, toasting with local wine is priceless, but it has immense value for the mind, body and heart .
An opportunity not to be missed for those who want to satisfy the gaze turned to natural beauties, for those who want to listen to the sweet and melodious sound of the slow flowing river, for those who want to rediscover the ancient traditions and delight the palate that is now tired of dishes already ready and packaged.
This year the festival features a new group and the newly elected President Angelo Vilardi, a 28-year-old young Felittese, who feels a strong bond with his land and wants to enhance local products and ancient flavors and as Angelo says: - ”Eating healthy, looking ahead, living happily between dishes and nature is a great fortune. For those who want to oxygenate the mind and the palate to delight in Cilento, in Felitto, it must arrive ”.
From 14 to 25 August, in Felitto, there is also space for culture with photographic and painting exhibitions, guided excursions in the enchanting “Gole del Calore” and in the historic center. In addition, every evening will be enlivened by lots of good music and exhibitions of typical local products.
