Hunting in derogation: Brescia, the vice president of the Province proposes some amendments to the bill concerning the derogations to hunting activities.
Giuseppe Romele, vice president of the Province of Brescia, welcoming the unanimous agreement of the hunting associations representing the over 750.000 hunters, this morning filed with the XIII Agriculture Commission of the Chamber of Deputies some amendments to Article 26 of the Bill on the "Provisions for the 'fulfillment of the obligations deriving from Italy's membership of the EU European Law 2013 ”- approved by the Senate on 8 July last. The aforementioned article intends to modify that part of the national hunting law 11 February 1992 n. 157 - art. 19bis - which delegates to the Regions the adoption of the derogation exercise for the taking of birds ordinarily prohibited by EU directives. A topic that is particularly close to the heart of Brescia's side-by-side shotguns. Romele who, in November of last year had already signed the Brescia proposal to amend art. 19-bis, also involving the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Giuseppe Castiglione filed the amendments with the commitment to collect further signatures of accession from other deputies.
The amendments to paragraphs 3, 5 and 6 of art. 26 of the Bill n. 1327, were necessary to re-establish, within the rules that will govern the exercise of derogation, an important role for regional observers. So much so that the evaluation by the Regions of "alternative solutions" to hunting is limited to the exceptions aimed at the protection of agricultural production, flora, fauna, health and public safety; moreover, to establish a scientific alternative (as the international literature on the subject provides) in the hypothesis that ISPRA does not provide the data necessary to determine the small quantity of bird species for which the derogation is intended to be adopted.
